Our version of ‘Human books’ will focus on a collection of people who might be subjected to stereotyping or prejudice in the local or national community. This primary aim is to get to know your neighbours in the community, and, to dispel negative stereotypes by bringing people together in one on one conversations, and, who may otherwise never have any interaction with people from diverse backgrounds, and is underpinned by the belief that under the right conditions such conversations have the power to undermine the fears we may have of others.
The key four Human books will be from the following: Iran, Syria, China, Australia (First Nation/Indigenous)

The official event will start at 9 am -10 am with an official welcome to country and introductions. Each human book volunteer will be borrowed for 30 min from 10 am - 1 pm and 2 pm - 3 pm. 3.30pm will be a special 1 hour Q & A conclusion/discussion panel. (feedback/summary).The event will be during and in conjunction with the 20 year anniversary of Harmony celebrations. This will be during the month of March. Organisers of this event will include a special week focused on refugee inclusion/program/topics.
